DESIGNED TO RULE OVER ALL OTHER LIFE
MY CHILD, MY PRIDE: MY LOVER, MY BRIDE
FIND LIFE IN THE GARDEN AND LOVE BY MY SIDE
Man:
I’ve eaten from the tree of life
And from my bones You formed my wife
Made in Your image, for Your glory
I’m free to heed Your only warning
Creator:
FORSAKE THE FRUIT THAT IS FORBBIDEN
EAT FROM THIS TREE AND YOU SHALL DIE
THE KNOWLEDGE OF THINGS GOOD AND EVIL
CONSUMES INNOCENCE WITH EACH BITE
Deceiver:
Dear daughter of Eden, I see you have eaten
From every tree in the garden
Aside from the tree that you’ve been lead to believe,
or should I say deceived?
…Is forbidden…
I offer life in just one bite
Taste and you’ll see
Like “god” you’ll be
Knowing everything
(You surely shall not die)
Creator:
YOU WERE THE CROWN OF MY CREATION
BEFORE YOU FELL PREY TO YOUR PRIDE
I OFFERED YOU LOVE, BUT YOU FELL FOR A LIE
I SEARCH THROUGH THE GARDEN, WHILE IN SHAME YOU HIDE
Man:
I hid my naked body
Ashamed to be exposed
Fooled by my flesh, I’ve fallen
From grace and now I know
Everything…

…You’ve been disarming me for days, and I’ve got my defenses all up
But you won’t stop until they’re down; please don’t stop now until they’re down...
You banished my body from Eden
For the forsaken fruit I had eaten
The knowledge of things good and evil
Corrupted my conscience
Deceitful were the serpent’s words
The wisdom he offered was not worth the curse
Now I know everything…
… And with this knowledge I shall crown myself “king”
Deceiver:
Erect a monument unto the minds of men
Man:
You built these hands, and since then
I’ve been building everything with them
So who’s to blame for all this mess we’ve made?
And who’s to receive all the glory for this majesty?
My man-made-majesty
Man/CREATOR :
You banished my body from Eden
I WARNED YOU
So I’ll ban you from the things I believe in
BUT YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE IN ME
From the schools where we send our children
MY CHILD, MY BRIDE
To the knowledge we bequeath unto them
YOU WILL KNOW MY LOVE, THE DAY I DIE....
Man:
I hear the generations cry:
“We feed our flesh and fill our minds with worldly wisdom; our demise”
Our lips offered the kiss
That betrayed
We washed our hands of this
On that day
The day the crowd cried, “Crucify!”
That was the day that God died for my misdeeds…
